On Saturday 10 April 2021 we'll be having an informative guest speaking session from Oceanographers and Author Chris Bowman. See attached for more information on the topics.

- Professor Chari Pattiarachi-
• Professor of Coastal Oceanography, Oceans Graduate School and Oceans Institute, University of Western Australia
• Research encompasses coastal ocean physical processes and their influence on climatic, biological, and geological processes in estuaries, the nearshore (beach) zone, and the continental shelf region.
• Presentation: “Coastal currents along south-west Australia – a tool kit for sailors and fisherman”

- Mr Maxime Marin -
• Research Scientist, Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, Western Australia; PhD Candidate, University of Tasmania, Institute of Marine and Antarctic Studies, Hobart, Tasmania – CSIRO Oceans and Atmosphere, Crawley, Western Australia
• Undertaking a PhD thesis investigating the threats marine heatwaves present to marine communities
• Presentation: “The impact of marine heatwaves - with special reference to Western Australian case studies’

- Author Chris Bowman -
Introducing the world famous,author and globe trotting yachtsman Mr Chris Bowman! Chris Bowman has written a couple of books the latest being ‘Me, the Boat and a Guy Named Bob.” This book is about Chris’s journey as a 21 year old kid from California who took off to see the world. His journeys led him down the East African coast and across several oceans to a magical Caribbean island and the building of a beautiful boat. Chris now lives near Fremantle and he continues to sail and build the occasional boat. Come along and listen to Chris’s journeys and his building of the “Water Pearl” boat which was owned in part by the legendary musician Bob Dylan.
