Official Statement from the Commodore: Club Operations Suspended

[Official Statement from the Commodore: Club Operations Suspended]

Dear Members,

As you may be aware, The Prime Minister announced on Sunday, that registered clubs, along with other hospitality venues, were required to cease operating from midday today, Monday 23 March 2020, to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

As every member will be aware the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak is continuing its rapid spread and Governments are escalating risk mitigation strategies in an endeavor to stop the spread.

As a nation and a local community we must minimize social gathering and minimize the risk of worsening the spread of the virus throughout the community.

Accordingly, your Management Committee acknowledges its duty to act in the best interests of members and staff at all times.

Confirming, the suspension includes, but is not limited to:

• Bar and Galley operations
• Club house facilities
• Functions, both member and visitor
• Visiting groups

The club external shower and toilet amenities will remain open during normal business hours.

Slipway operations and boat maintenance contractors will continue until further advised and as long as operations continue to be compliant with Government guidelines and legislation.

Members are still required to advise administration if contractors are attending to carry out works on vessels.

Marina access is to be maintained. Members can access boats and or make use of the ramp facility.

State, Federal and Club hygiene guidance and gathering restrictions apply.

// ACCESS AND COMMUNICATION
• Communication with administration staff will be conducted electronically and by phone. The office number 9339 3520 will be diverted to Natalie’s phone where inquiries and payments can be processed.
